yesterday was dramatic - today is ok アイスランドの首都レイキャヴィーク出身の4人組。メンバーは10代後半〜20代前半くらい、とのこと。写真を見てもとても若く、特に双子の姉妹 Gyða と Kristín Anna はとてもキュート。 この2000年の作品が今のところ唯一のオリジナル・アルバム。所謂ポストテクノとかエレクトロニカとか言われる種類のジャンルに属する音楽だが、なんとも風変わりな雰囲気のグループだ。 やたらにほのぼのとした音。入る音の数々もとてもチャーミングというか、愛嬌のある音。童謡風のメロディーは、ほのぼのを通り越して時折やたらにベタになるところもあるが、とにかく和む。ビートは緩め、彼らにかかると打ち込みのビートすら表情があるかのように響いてしまう。 アイスランド盤のこのアルバム、今年になってから国内盤が出たそうで、既にその筋では話題の作品。

please smile my noise bleed 彼らもご多分に漏れず EP やリミックスなどのリリースがある。このアルバムは最も最近のもので、ドイツ・ベルリンのレーベルからのリリース。 múm によるものは #1、#2、それにインタールードの #5。それ以外は他のアーティストによるリミックス。 オリジナルはやはり彼ららしい音。リミックスはそれぞれ別のアーティストが手がけていることもあり、なかなかバラエティーに富んでいてかなり楽しめる。個人的にはちょっとアンビエントに始まり、途中からは強めのビートが効いている #6 が印象に残った。 múm は 同じアイスランドのグループ、Sigur Ros が所属するイギリス Fat Cat レーベルから次の作品をリリースする予定とのこと
